My husband, Chris, and I recently found a love for DIY (okay, mostly, me). We’ve built two “builder-grade, cookie-cutter” homes and are starting the process of building our third, fully custom home on our dream acre of land in the country. I don’t believe it’s about getting "Instagram-worthy” photos. It’s about finding joy in the journey of creating and loving the home you live in, as imperfect as it may be!
This blog is intended to be a place to share the history of our first two homes and the journey to Lewis Loft 3.0.
Office Chevron Accent Wall
This was one of those “I’m going to just do this right now without too much of a plan” DIY projects, and I’m still obsessed with it and love that it’s what I get to look at every day while I work.
DIY Shiplap Electric Fireplace
The biggest DIY project to date. But also the one I’m most proud of!
Stovetop Noodle Board
This project taught me how cool it can be to create from your scraps.
Dog Crate Cover/Table
This isn’t really a “home” DIY, but it is something I love that is so functional.
Entryway Bench
This was the first DIY project that I really tackled all on my own and I can’t put into words how much a silly, simple little DIY project changed me.
Kitchen Accent Wall
The second part of the tile project in the kitchen, and we still learned a lot from this one!
Kitchen Tile Backsplash and Floating Shelves
This is our first-ever attempt at tile, and we learned a lot…
